It would appear that The Mezz pub located in Temple Bar Dublin, Ireland is making a true Mezz, errr, mess of things and asking for quite an unseemely mess on their floor.
As reported today and yesterday by Thomas Crosbie Media at Ireland Online and today by Michael Brennan at the Irish Examiner, The Mezz has been misleading it's pint tipping patrons with disabilities into thinking they had a fully disabled accessable restroom. The bar had a red door displaying a gold wheelchair sign. What authorities have now discovered is that the locked door is attached to the wall with no toilet behind the door! Tables and chairs are reported to be on the other side of the wall in the space behind the door.
It would seem that this is not a reasonable accomodation for the pub's disabled patrons. Looks as though The Mezz and it's management are tardy in complying with city building regulations, but looks can be deceiving. Could it be that The Mezz management has tapped into Tardisian technology? Could there really be a fully accessable disabled toilet behind the locked door? We may never know.
