If you happen to be a patient at St. Mary's Hospital in London you may come into contact with, or even be examined by, Sister Mary the Robot Nurse.
Sister Mary allows your doctor to interact with and examine you remotely. Great. My doctor is hard enough to communicate with! On the up side though Sister Mary cannot possibly have a bedside manner as terrible as most doctor's I know. She could do with a bit of a make-over though!

Great! a large proportion of UK nurses passing their finals last year failed to find jobs (you have to put in 6 months as a post-reg before you are finally qualified, so if you don't get a job straightaway you are screwed.) Now we know why!
They could probably have hired half-a-dozen bedside carers for one doctor's robotic toy.
