Liposuction at Home?

PSA:  Don't try liposuction at home folks.
O.k., another "I can't believe people are doing this at home" medical treatment (remember the Lasik@Home Do-It-Yourself Eye Surgery post?).  This time a young woman has died from an at home botched attempt at liposuction.  So the next time some shady character offers a great discount on liposuction in his basement just say "NO".

Email Avalanche

As webmaster of a highly trafficked blog I get hundreds of requests to feature links to other websites and blogs.  When a site is one I frequent and it falls into my side-bar categories I include a link there and if it is really great or fun but doesn't fit into my categories I pop up a post and include the link there.   But please don't spam my email in the hopes that your site will magically appear.  Posting links and featuring other blogs takes both time and effort so give me a reason to include a link.  If you have a personal blog and want me to check it out, then include a bit about your site in your message otherwise money always is a good incentive.  hehehe
**If you are running a business then it is advertising and as such I will charge a low monthly rate for ad space (again only if I've checked out the site and it's legit and cool.)**

Mothball Sniffing??

According to this BBC article, doctors are warning against the dangers of mothball sniffing after a recent case of poisoning.  Teenage girls were sickened after sniffing mothballs.  The girl who became the most ill and had to be hospitalized for treatment had also been chewing mothballs daily.  Sniffing mothballs?  Chewing mothballs?  What are these kids thinking?!  Gross!  Just the thought of mothballs makes me gag.  N-A-S-T-Y.

Runny Pudding?

The gals over at Inky Circus have ruined runny pudding for me forever!
After eating half of her pudding Anna  goes back for the remainder the next day only to discover that it has gone all runny. "DUDE! It's the SPIT! Pudding is thickened by corn starch, which is broken down by the enzyme amylase in your saliva."
Anna's Science Project showed that the spit caused the pudding to go all runny.  I think from now on I'll stick with chocolate cookies.

PSA: Epidurals go in Spine, Not Arm

Another case where I wonder since this can happen to a nurse who had worked at that hospital as recently as 2004, then what are my chances of surviving trips to the hospital?  And aren't these needles different?  If not, shouldn't they be color coded?  Something?!

Don't Eat and Drive

PSA: Don't drink eat cereal and drive.
One man learned this lesson the hard way when he accidentally ran into the back of a police vehicle while eating his Frosted Flakes. 
Is it just me or are we becoming less intelligent?  When I see someone shaving, eating, watching television, using laptop and/or applying make-up while driving my first thought is that it is Darwinism in action.  The problem is that these people are likely to injure innocent people while they are at it and with the Mumpy Luck that will likely include me.  Grrrrr...... My Fimo Goddess of Pain is cringing.

Beans! Now with all the nutritional value but less flatulence!

Beans beans the magical fruit, the more you eat the more you toot! Or perhaps not.  Scientists have found that fermenting beans reduces the toxic after effects flatulence.  Who knew??

Feeding Frenzy: Don't go in the water

Several Australian beaches are closed today due to a "massive feeding frenzy involving more than 100 sharks."  Although some surfers are reported to be ignoring the warnings, Mumpy's recommendation would be:

Don't drink go in the water,

Email from the FBI? It's a worm.

Many folks have been receiving emails containing the sober worm computer virus.  Some of these emails claim to be from the FBI who has now released an official public warning regarding these emails.  So don't open those emails!  Beware the sober worm.
